Our First Adoption Event of the Season:
With Love - Super Adoption Day
Saturday, May 22,
This event was a tremendous accomplishment. We were proud to volunteer with Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia, and our hearts were warmed by the turnout of interested pet-owners, venders, and animal welfare organizations. You are welcome to look at all of our pictures on flickr.
Winter Crate Collection a HUGE success!
We collected plenty of crates this past winter. Some of the pets-to-be that we helped included a greyhound, pitt mix, and a mommy/kitten duo that emerged just after all of those snow storms. We will still gladly pick crates up and distribute them to willing foster parents. Today or next winter, hopefully you can help us help them. Give us a call if you have one at the back of your closet! 215-756-2090
Mutt Strut! October 31st, 2009!
Dress up and strut! Our third year with the Mutt Strut was amazing! By all accounts, it seems like the event raised more than $100,000!!!! And, walking through the mist and the rain really drove home the point that we were walking for the neglected and abandoned animals of this city. (See some footage here.)

Ongoing Community Participation:
We are a proud member of NCA.
This year, we have participated in Night Out, Movie Night, and, most importantly, Block Cleanup events.
We are proud supporters of our local animal welfare groups.
From big events like Mutt Strut and Carnival of Dogs to personal choices like taking in and then finding homes for kittens or adopting our ‘found’ dog, we try and try harder when it comes to animal welfare.
We are an active part of Our Clean Green City.
Not only do we get down and dirty reversing the work of litter bugs, Gracious Neighbor is currently participating in the Philadelphia Rain Barrel Program to help protect the watershed from sewer storm overflows. And, to the delight of our neighbors, we are midnight scoopers. We actively scoop the ‘vandal poop’ left by bag-less dog owners. We also make sure local dog areas have extra bags.
